Kipscombe holidays is located in a hamlet of just three residential properties, and a one bed holiday cottage plus a new 1 bedroom holiday lodge coming soon. The holiday lets provide an ideal base to explore Devon, Somerset and Exmoor. We are truly dog friendly, walkers friendly and cyclists friendly as we have many attractions nearby. Enjoy a relaxing break in the North Devon countryside with great scenery to view. Our holiday accommodation is perfectly suited to photographers, artists or those that just wish to be away from it all. We are rural but still within easy access of North Devon Attractions and some of the best dog friendly beaches, some allowing dogs all year round. You will find local shops and pubs that allow dogs too!
Being only 1.2 miles from Exmoor National Park, The Kipscombe area is lucky enough to have an abundance of wildlife and occasionally gets a visit from hedgehogs, local red deer, Barn owls, Tawny owls, birds of prey and many species of birds.
The hamlet of Kipscombe consist of North Kipscombe a working 100 acre farm, Kipscombe a 3 acre non working farm with the Holiday Cottage and last but not least, Apple Orchard Barn an 8 acre non working farm (holiday lodge to come soon). The hamlet is located on a quiet country lane between the villages of Bratton Fleming and Challacombe in North Devon. We are within walking distance of Exmoor where you can enjoy hours of cycling, walking or dog walking. After your long walk on the moors why not pop into the well known Black Venus pub in Challacombe which serves good beer and food or the Old Station House Inn at Blackmoor gate, also serving great food and ales.
Exmoor holiday Cottage
The current Self-catering accommodation consists of a detached holiday cottage where dogs are welcome, it has been tastefully converted from an old stone farm building. The cottage can sleep up to 2 people and provides a comfortable base in which to explore North Devon. View the cottage page to find out more.
Holiday lodge coming soon
Planned for Spring 2025 will be a 1 bedroom holiday lodge positioned where the touring site pitches currently are. It will have great views overlooking the Kipscombe valley. The lodge will have it's own private garden and parking area. It's size and design will be very similar to The Old Stables (previously) Babbling brook cottage but shall be timber clad to fit in within it's surroundings. This too will be within walking distance of the secure dog walking field which can be hired during your stay.
Those staying with us will be able to roam area's of our acres of land. Guests of the cottage will be able to walk down to the babbling brook and have splash in the stream, then double back and take a walk up to the paddock for off lead dog exercise, here you will find some stunning views of the valley. You'll be able to hire the local secure dog walking field just a short walk away.
The lodge will have access to a different area of land (no stream, sorry), the 3 acre paddock with views of Exmoor and the Bray valley. or hire the Secure dog field for off lead dog fun. From here you can view Exmoor National Park and the surrounding land (an artists delight). We are truly dog friendly and have put in many attractions for dog and owner. You can exercise your dog(s) off lead in our large fenced exercise area or wear them out with our dog friendly attractions onsite.
